Traditional knowledge – formula	麦门冬（去心，焙）三分赤茯苓（去黑皮）半两芎䓖一分半郁李仁（去皮，炒令黄，别研）一两半甘草（炙令赤色）半两脾劳。时寒时热，唇口干焦，四肢浮肿。

麦门冬：为百合科植物麦冬或沿阶草的块根。
郁李仁：蔷薇科植物欧李Prunus hztmilis Bge．、郁李 Prunus japonica Thunb．或长柄扁桃 Prunus pedunculata Maxim．的干燥成熟种子。前二种习称“小李仁”，后一种习称“大李仁”。夏、秋二季采收成熟果实，除去果肉和核壳，取　　出种子，干燥。
甘草：豆科植物甘草Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch.、胀果甘草Glycyrrhiza inflata Bat.或光果甘草Glycyrrhiza glabra L．的干燥根和根茎。春、秋二季采挖，除去须根，晒干。
川芎：伞形科植物川芎Ligustium chuanxiong Hort.的干燥根茎。夏季当茎上的节盘显著突出，并略带紫色时采挖，除去泥沙，晒后烘干，再去须根。

Indications: 脾劳。时寒时热，唇口干焦，四肢浮肿。

Usage and dosage: 上为粗末。每服五钱匕，用水一盏半，煎至一盏，去滓，空心、食前分二次温服。
