Traditional knowledge – formula	鹿茸四两（去毛，涂酥炙令黄）朱砂二两（细研，水飞过）野鸡胫骨二两天门冬二两（去心，焙）菟丝子二两（酒浸一宿，晒干，别捣为末）车前子一两雀脑三十枚（酥煎令黄）熟干地黄三两肉苁蓉三两（酒浸一宿，刮去皴皮，炙令干）精极。上焦热，下焦冷。

天门冬：为百合科植物天门冬的块根。
鹿茸：鹿科动物梅花鹿Cervus nippon Temminck或马鹿Cervus elaphus Linnaeus的雄鹿未骨化密生茸毛的幼角。前者习称“花鹿茸”，后者习称“马鹿茸”。夏、秋二季锯取鹿茸，经加工后，阴干或烘干。
肉苁蓉：列当科植物肉苁蓉Cistanche deserticola Y．C．Ma或管花肉苁蓉Cistanche tubulosa（Schenk） Wight的干燥带鳞叶的肉质茎。春季苗刚出土时或秋季冻土之前采挖，除去茎尖。切段，晒干。
车前子：车前科植物车前Plantago asiatica L或平车前Plantago depressa Willd. 的干燥成熟种子。夏、秋二季种子成熟时采收果穗，晒干，搓出种子，除去杂质。

Indications: 精极。上焦热，下焦冷。

Usage and dosage: 上为末，炼蜜与羊胫骨髓拌和为丸，如梧桐子大。每次三十丸，空心及晚食前以温酒送服。
