Abstract Thirty-nine plant methanol extracts from thirty-eight Chinese traditional medicinal plants collected from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomic Region were screened for their antifungal activity against five important plant pathogenic fungi in vitro. The tested concentration was 10 mg dry methanol extract per mL.The results showed that 12 plant extracts had higher than 60% inhibitory rate to Peronophythora litchii.Among them, the inhibitory percentage of extracts from Begonia wilsonii,Tinospora capillipes and Rhamnus crenatus was 100%,96.00%,and 94.55% respectively.10 plant extracts had higher than 60% inhibitory rate to Phytophthora melonis.Among them, the inhibitory percentage of extracts from Alangium chinense,Pteris semipinnata and T.capillipes was 93.88%,91.92%,and 90.32% respectively; In case of Rhizoctonia solani,5 plant extracts had higher than 60% inhibitory percentage.Among them, the highest inhibitory percentage came from extracts of Prismatomeris tetrandra(80.00%) and Evodia lepta(69.03%).As to Colletotrichum musae,4 plant extracts showed higher than 60% inhibitory percentage.Among them,R.crenatus and Pholidota chinensis exhibited higher inhibitory percentage, which was 69.05% and 67.86% respectively than the others. And extracts from R.crenatus,P.chinensis,and P.tetrandra showed higher antifungal activities to Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubensis race 4 with the inhibitory percentage of 73.58%,68.99%,and 61.46% respectively.
