Zhao Fuwei is a professor at the Nanjing Institute of Environmental Sciences, Ministry of Ecology and Environment. Zhao Fuwei is a member of the WIPO expert group on disclosure of origin, the Ministry's expert group on legislation for access to and benefit sharing of biological genetic resources, and the working and advisory groups on biosafety legislation in the ecological and environmental field, and a visiting researcher at the Research Institute of Environmental Law of Wuhan University. Zhao Fuwei served as chief technical adviser of the UNDP–GEF project “Development and implementation of a national framework on access to genetic resources and associated traditional knowledge and benefit sharing”. Research covers biodiversity, biological genetic resources and traditional knowledge, and Zhao Fuwei has long supported the international negotiations and national implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Nagoya Protocol.
