Liu Yujing works on the conservation and use of plant resources. Liu Yujing has led or taken part in more than 20 national and provincial projects, published more than 30 papers and six books (editor of one, contributor to five). Liu Yujing is Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Ethnobotany Committee of the China Wild Plant Conservation Association and a council member of the Ethnobotany Branch of the Botanical Society of China.

Awards:

Teaching: first prize in the third National Teaching Innovation Competition; “innovative work” in the 25th national exchange on ICT in teacher education; special prize in the Jiangsu Teaching Innovation Competition; second prize in the fourth Jiangsu young university teachers' teaching competition; first prize in the Jiangsu university micro-lecture competition; selected as a national exemplary teacher of ideological and political education in courses in 2021.

Research: 2017 award for contributions to private-sector science and technology (innovation and industrial application of key technologies and equipment for tea quality and safety); selected for Jiangsu's “Innovation and Entrepreneurship PhD” programme; commended in 2021 by the China Wild Plant Conservation Association for promoting its membership work.

Science communication: Outstanding Science Communicator of the university, 2023.
