黄连：毛茛科植物黄连Coptis chinensis Franch.、三角叶黄连Coptis deltoidea C．Y．Cheng et Hsiao或云连Coptis teeta Wall.的干燥根茎。以上三种分别习称“味连”、“雅连”、“云连”。秋季采挖，除去须根和泥沙，干燥，撞去残留须根。
蒲黄：香蒲科植物水烛香蒲Typha angustifolia L．、东方香蒲Typha orientalis Presl或同属植物的干燥花粉。夏季采收蒲棒上部的黄色雄花序，晒干后碾轧，筛取花粉。剪取雄花后，晒干，成为带有雄花的花粉，即为草蒲黄。
青黛：爵床科植物马蓝Baphicacanthus cusia（Nees）Bremek．、蓼科植物蓼蓝Polygonum tinctorium Ait．或十字花科植物菘蓝Isatis indigotica Fort．的叶或茎叶经加工制得的干燥粉末、团块或颗粒。
干姜：姜科植物姜Zingiber officinale Rosc.的干燥根茎。冬季采挖，除去须根和泥沙，晒干或低温干燥。趁鲜切片晒干或低温干燥者称为“干姜片”。
儿茶：豆科植物儿茶Acacia catechu （L.f．）Willd.的去皮枝、干的干燥煎膏。冬季采收枝、干，除去外皮，砍成大块，加水煎煮，浓缩，干燥。

Indications: 口舌生疮。
