Traditional knowledge – formula	黄连犀角乌梅木香桃仁伤寒狐惑。唇口生疮，声哑，四肢沉重，恶闻食气，默默欲卧，目闭，舌白，面目间黑色，变易无常。虫蚀下部为狐，而唇下有疮，其咽干；虫蚀其脏为惑，上唇有疮，声哑。

犀角：为犀科动物印度犀Rhinoceros unicornis L.、爪哇犀Rhinoceros sondaicus Desmarest、苏门犀Rhinoceros sumatrensis（Fischer）、黑犀Rhinoceros bicornis L．及白犀 Rhinoceros simus Cottoni 等的角。前三者习称“犀角”、“暹罗角”，后二者习称“广角”、“天马角”、“柱角”。
桃仁：蔷薇科植物桃Prunus persica（L．）Batsch或山桃Prunus davidiana（Carr．）Franch．的干燥成熟种子。果实成熟后采收，除去果肉和核壳，取出种子，晒干。
黄连：毛茛科植物黄连Coptis chinensis Franch.、三角叶黄连Coptis deltoidea C．Y．Cheng et Hsiao或云连Coptis teeta Wall.的干燥根茎。以上三种分别习称“味连”、“雅连”、“云连”。秋季采挖，除去须根和泥沙，干燥，撞去残留须根。
乌梅：蔷薇科植物梅Prunus mume（ Sieb.） Sieb. et Zucc.的干燥近成熟果实。夏季果实近成熟时采收，低温烘干后闷至色变黑。
木香：菊科植物木香Aucklandia lappa Decne.的干燥根。秋、冬二季采挖，除去泥沙和须根，切段，大的再纵剖成瓣，干燥后撞去粗皮。

Indications: 伤寒狐惑。唇口生疮，声哑，四肢沉重，恶闻食气，默默欲卧，目闭，舌白，面目间黑色，变易无常。虫蚀下部为狐，而唇下有疮，其咽干；虫蚀其脏为惑，上唇有疮，声哑。

Usage and dosage: 上锉一剂。水煎服。
