葛根：豆科植物野葛Pueraria lobata （Willd.） Ohwi的干燥根。习称野葛。秋、冬二季采挖，趁鲜切成厚片或小块；干燥。
大黄：蓼科植物掌叶大黄　　Rheum palmatum L．、唐古特大黄Rheum tanguticum Maxim. ex Balf.或药用大黄Rheum officinale Baill.的干燥根和根茎。秋末茎叶枯萎或次春发芽前采挖，除去细根，刮去外皮，切瓣或段，绳穿成串干燥或直接干燥。

Indications: 大便不通六七日，腹中有燥屎，寒热烦迫，短气，汗出，胀满；亦治大小便不通。

Usage and dosage: 上锉。以水七升，煮取五升，去滓，纳
膏，煎取三升，澄清。强人顿服，羸人再服。
